Remember when everyone used to have coffee at the diner to catch up on news?
When you knew your neighbors and they knew what you were dealing with?
When rural communities looked out for each other because that's what you did?
That still matters. But now the conversations aren't just about the weather and cattle prices. They're about the wolf that took three calves last week. The ecology regulation that doesn't make sense for how things actually work up here. The bill moving through Olympia that could change everything about how you operate.
Rural Washington is under pressure from every direction.
Regulations that don't account for how things actually work up here. Predators with no real management. Bills written by people who've never operated on the east side. A government that treats agriculture like a problem to be solved instead of the backbone of our communities.
And most of us are fighting it alone.
That's what Farm Bureau changes. We bring producers together, not just for potlucks and meetings, but for real advocacy that matters. We track the legislation that threatens your operation. We fight for predator management that protects livestock. We push back on ecology when they overstep. We put Northeast Washington voices in rooms where decisions get made, from the county level to the nation's capital.
But it's more than advocacy. It's community. It's the producer three counties over who figured out how to deal with the same problem you're facing. It's quarterly meetings where you actually talk through what's working and what's not. It's knowing that when something happens, good or bad, you've got people who understand because they're living it too.
Community used to be coffee at the diner and neighbors helping neighbors. It still is. But now it also means organized advocacy, shared information, and strength in numbers when facing challenges no single producer can solve alone.
Get involved. Show up to meetings. Add your voice. Share what you know. Learn from others who've been there. Farm Bureau is only as strong as the people who participate.
Next meeting will be a virtual-only meeting April 23rd 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Farm Bureau members can email info@newafarmbureau.org for the meeting link. NEWA Counties Farm Bureau Members will also receive a meeting reminder and link in their email a few days prior if they opted for emails.
Our last meeting was March 26th 2026 at 6 pm. The meeting was held at the Chewelah Senior Center 302 E Main Ave Chewelah WA 99109. There was dinner provided by Western Community Insurance, a presentation on "Things for Farmers to Ask Their Accountant" by Kevin Blodgett of BGM Professional Services. Kids activities were provided.

You're busy running your operation. We're here to support it.
Northeast Washington Counties Farm Bureau represents farmers, ranchers, foresters, and agritourism operators across Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties. Whether you run cattle, grow hay, manage timber, operate a u-pick operation, or simply believe in protecting agriculture and rural communities, there's a place for you here.
Why join? Because agriculture doesn't happen in isolation. You need legislative advocacy when bills threaten your operation. You need access to safety programs, healthcare options, and insurance tailored to ag. You need member discounts that actually save you money. And you need a community of people who understand the challenges you face, because they're facing them too.
Farm Bureau provides all of it. We track the legislation that affects your land, water rights, and ability to operate. We connect you to resources that keep your operation running safer and smarter. We negotiate member benefits on everything from equipment to travel to dental care. And we bring members together to share knowledge, strategies, and support.
Membership is $120 a year. It connects you to legislative alerts when action matters, exclusive member benefits and discounts, safety and educational programs, healthcare and insurance options, and a network of agricultural producers across Northeast Washington and beyond.
Rural communities thrive when we support each other. That's what Farm Bureau does. Join us.
